The Day After Thanksgiving

Well, we survived!  We did not get out of bed until about 11:30 this afternoon, but we survived our first attempt at hosting Thanksgiving.  I'd say it was a hit, minus the fact that I did dishes the entire time everyone was here. :)  But that is what you do as a host, right?  Everyone else has fun while you do the grunt work.  Thats okay with me though, my husband would tell you, I live off of validation.  As long as people are telling me I am doing a good job and telling me they are enjoying themselves, then that is all that matters to me. :) Unfortunately, because I was doing so many dishes, I did not get to take to many pictures, but I did get a few.  I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving, ours is not over yet.  We got a break today and have one more round with the Kokal Family tomorrow.  Hope you enjoy the few moments I captured!

THE FOOD! ...the pies!  (My sister Jamie works at Costco, she was in charge of the pies, she brought 5!!!)  My husband made the Turkey which turned out FANTASTIC!  I was in charge of the cheese which I should have called my sister-in-law for her help or my mother because I thought I picked out an amazing cheese after staring at all of them in Byerly's for a good 30 minutes and ended up bringing home a parmesan cheese....ooops!  :)

Nelson, is our little dog.  He is absolutely in LOVE with my dad, would not leave his side all night long!  He was in heaven!  (the dog, not my dad ;)

Popping some Bubbly!* :)

Our long time friend Don joined us!  He was snug at our dinner table and loving every minute of it! We love Don!  Thanksgivings would not be the same if he were not there.

The "cozy" and "snug" dinner table!  Notice how happy Don is?! :)  What man wouldn't be sandwiched between my sister, right?!

This picture gives you a feel for how little our house is.  Collins, our big dog, loves it!  She was Turkey'd out!

My mom and Don sharing some laughs.  My husbands parents were sweet enough to stop by for dessert!  Notice where my husbands love for the camera comes from!

The end of the night, my sisters wanted a "photo shoot" with their significant others, here's a glimpse.  They are such dorks, but I love them so much! :)

Had to end the photographs with how the night began.  Nelson and his favorite person in the whole entire world.  HAPPY THANKSGIVING EVERYONE!

P.S.  Mom and Dad, I promise to help out so much more for all future Thanksgivings!  It's a lot of work!
